How to learn German for free

Learning German is necessary for any long-term commitment in Germany, whether it be academic, professional, or residential. Anyone planning to reside in Germany permanently is expected to make some effort to acquire the language, at the very least, the essentials. In addition, those who want to make Germany their permanent home will need to familiarise themselves with German history, culture, law, etc.

Some may see it as much reading, labour, and maybe even pointless, but that is not how it works. Foreigners entering Germany are expected to learn German and a great deal more since the nation has a highly developed system for foreigners and a desire to integrate them into its society. There are numerous advantages to learning German while living in Germany, and it may be challenging to participate fully in local society, get gainful employment, or enrol in a local educational institution without doing so.

Who Qualifies for a German Visa for Reuniting with Relatives?

There are stringent requirements that applicants must complete to be granted a family reunion visa. The specific criteria also change based on your nationality and the legal standing of your family member in Germany. Valid passports or identification cards are required to enter Germany for citizens of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and Switzerland. This means you may visit Germany without a family reunion visa, but you must register with the residents' registration office (Einwohnermeldeamt) within three months of your arrival.

However, if you are not a citizen of an EU or EEA member state, you must apply for a family reunion visa to visit Germany to be with your loved one. You may apply for a residence permit with the German Alien Authority. Your visa will remain valid if your partner, spouse, or relative is a permanent resident of Germany.

The Form may be filled out online for quicker processing. If that isn't possible, please print the Form, complete it by hand, sign it, and return it with the rest of your paperwork. The application form is available in portable document format (PDF) here.

The Declarations Form is the second document that has to be filled out and signed. This Form is your official declaration that the information you have provided is accurate and complete. The Declarations Form in Portable Document Format is available here.

You should provide details about your planned stay in Germany and its length in your cover letter. Information about your vacation plans should back up the data you entered into the application. A visa consular officer will initially review this paper, which serves as a summary of your application, before reviewing the rest of your documentation. Therefore, it is crucial to take the time to craft a compelling cover letter.

A Complete Photocopy of Both Your and Your Spouse's Passports

You must send a copy of your real passport. Your partner must also fill this out. These copies must be printed on A4 paper, at the very least.

Official Birth Certificate A certified copy of your birth certificate issued by the "Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1969" will be requested. Verify if this document is written in English or go through the same steps to have it translated and apostilled.

Evidence of Marriage

You'll need to provide documents and maybe even wedding photos to prove you're married. This comprehensive checklist lists every item needed to prove the various marriage kinds. Various statutes cover Christian, Jewish, Muslim, and Hindu weddings. In cases when the wedding took place somewhere other than Germany or India, legal documentation of the marriage would be required. What Kind of Visa Documentation Is Necessary for a Family Reunion Visit with Minor Children?

Depending on the child's age and immigration status, you may or may not be able to bring them to Germany with you on a family reunion visa. A parent with a Blue Card, a settlement permit, or a residence permit for humanitarian reasons may bring their kid to Germany.

If both parents already live in Germany, they may apply to have their kids join them there. A single parent possessing parental legal responsibility may bring a kid to Germany. When one parent has the right to care for a child, but neither lives in Germany, the non-German parent must transfer that right to the German parent so that the German parent may apply for a family reunion visa.

Children under 16 are permitted to travel with their parents without meeting any stipulations. Applicants for a family reunification visa between the ages of 16 and 18 must demonstrate both a lack of marriage and a command of the German language.

Germany Children's Visas for Reuniting with Family

A kid seeking a Family Reunion visa to join their parent(s) in Germany must meet almost the same requirements as a spouse seeking a Family Reunion visa. Those under the Age of majority are required to have a parent or legal guardian present for visa appointments. Just a handful of different forms must be filled out, and they all have to do with verifying the child's identification and parental status. Below, we detail when and what additional paperwork may be required.

Validation of Your German Knowledge (C1 Level)

If a child is 16 or older, they need to be able to speak German at a C1 level. Unlike the German language requirement for spouses, level A1, this one is just at the beginner level. This is a prerequisite for children applying for a family reunion visa with a person who is not a citizen of Germany or the European Union.

Wage Statements and Employment Agreement

The parent in Germany must provide a copy of their current job contract and pay stubs from the last three months. If the parent is a citizen of the European Union, they are required (except a German citizen)

One parent of the kid may be permanently based in Germany, while the other remains in India. In case of a divorce, the parent seeking sole custody in Germany must provide evidence. However, if the parents are still married, the parent staying in India must appear in person at the German Mission to sign a statement of permission.
